Food Safety Program Coordinator
Biography
Lindsey Hoover is the Food Safety Program Coordinator for the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. In 2010, she received a B.S. In Animal Sciences from The Ohio State University. During her undergraduate career, she participated in the OSU Meat Judging Team, held offices in the OSU Horsemen’s Association, and performed a research internship with OARDC Mastitis Laboratory that focused on reducing the incidence of mastitis-causing pathogens in recycled sand bedding by flame application. After completing her undergraduate degree, Lindsey worked for Hormel Foods, Inc. in Fremont, Nebraska as a Relief Pork Procurement Manager for two years where she learned the various roles in livestock procurement, management and humane handling.
In her role as Food Safety Program Coordinator, Lindsey develops and delivers educational curriculum for fresh fruit and vegetable growers on assessing and reducing the risk of on-farm microbiological contamination commonly found on a produce operation. Lindsey also collaborates with produce safety experts on a state and national level to better serve produce industry stakeholders.
